1 The Lord is king: let the earth rejoice; ♦︎
let the multitude of the isles be glad.
2 Clouds and darkness are round about him; ♦︎
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
3 Fire goes before him ♦︎
and burns up his enemies on every side.
4 His lightnings lit up the world; ♦︎
the earth saw it and trembled.
5 The mountains melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, ♦︎
at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
6 The heavens declared his righteousness, ♦︎
and all the peoples have seen his glory.
7 Confounded be all who worship carved images
and delight in mere idols. ♦︎
Bow down before him, all you gods.
8 Zion heard and was glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoiced, ♦︎
because of your judgements, O Lord.
9 For you, Lord, are most high over all the earth; ♦︎
you are exalted far above all gods.
10 The Lord loves those who hate evil; ♦︎
he preserves the lives of his faithful
and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 Light has sprung up for the righteous ♦︎
and joy for the true of heart.
12 Rejoice in the Lord, you righteous, ♦︎
and give thanks to his holy name.

12 Moses said to the Lord, See, you have said to me, Bring up this people; but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, I know you by name, and you have also found favour in my sight. 13Now if I have found favour in your sight, show me your ways, so that I may know you and find favour in your sight. Consider too that this nation is your people. 14He said, My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. 15And he said to him, If your presence will not go, do not carry us up from here. 16For how shall it be known that I have found favour in your sight, I and your people, unless you go with us? In this way, we shall be distinct, I and your people, from every people on the face of the earth.
17 The Lord said to Moses, I will do the very thing that you have asked; for you have found favour in my sight, and I know you by name.

6 And he said to me, These words are trustworthy and true, for the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants* what must soon take place.
7 See, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.
8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me; 9but he said to me, You must not do that! I am a fellow-servant* with you and your comrades* the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God!
